Snow Travel & Rescue Courses
Our snow travel courses will introduce students to avalanche awareness and backcountry hazards. Through snow pack stability tests, local forecasting and avalanche education, WLI instructors will teach you the skills to minimize your exposure to backcountry risks.
Snow Climbing & Anchors
Traveling on snow takes many forms, from crossing passes to climbing peaks. Knowing how to effectively use an ice axe, crampons and a variety of anchoring and belay methods is paramount to efficient mountain travel in a variety of snow conditions. Students will learn self-arrest, running belays, snow anchors, and more.
Glacier Travel & Crevasse Rescue
Crevasse rescue skills are a must-know for all mountaineers venturing into glaciers. In this course, students will learn how to effectively travel in rope teams, deal with various rescue scenarios, and build C-pulley and Z-pulley raising systems.
