Regardless of your favorite outdoor activity, embracing Leave No Trace (LNT) skills and ethics is paramount for a sustainable future in outdoor recreation. However, simple knowing how to tread lightly is just the beginning. Students also learn interactive and fun was to teach minimum impact skills to others and to plan their activities with LNT in mind. Being a steward of the natural environment and empowering others to think about wilderness principals is a job for everyone.


LNT Master Educator $650

This five day course is designed for people who are actively teaching others backcountry skills or providing recreation information to the public. Students will learn Leave No Trace techniques through skits, discussions, and hands-on activities. They will develop a comprehensive overview of Leave No Trace skills and ethics through practical applications in a field-based setting. Contact the WLI office for course information and dates.


LNT Trainer $260

Students will receive introductory training in Leave No Trace skills and ethics in a condensed two day format. The Trainer course focuses on learning about the seven principles of Leave No Trace (Plan Ahead and Prepare, Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces, Dispose of Waste Properly, Leave What You Find, Minimize Campfire Impacts, Respect Wildlife and Visitors) and techniques for disseminating these low impact skills. LNT Awareness $130

This one day workshop is a formal Leave No Trace presentation, designed to give students an experiential based introductory training in the skills and ethics of Leave No Trace. Contact the WLI office for course information and dates.
